Searchly and 22 AEO and AI visibility platforms, compared on what you can track, what evidence you can open and what you pay. For most teams the pick is Searchly. Its $99 plan opens the answer and citations behind every score and adds your own site data once you connect it; no other platform here documents AI crawler logs, AI referral visits and Search Console on its entry plan.
Compared from each vendor's own public pricing and documentation, checked from Oct 19 to Oct 26, 2026. Spotted an out-of-date detail? Email piotr@trysearchly.com.
short answer
Searchly for most teams, then the rest by group
Searchly is the platform most teams should choose. The others fall into five narrower groups, and this is where each one sits.
Our pick for most teams: Searchly tracks the buyer prompts you choose on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity and opens the answer and citations behind every score. Its $99 plan adds AI crawler requests, Google Analytics 4 visits from AI assistants and Search Console clicks once you connect them, with the REST API, MCP server, Agent and AI shopping included. On Pro, Content Studio writes full articles from verified sources and sends approved ones to Webflow as drafts. See why Searchly comes out on top
Where each platform sits, on evidence and openness
Every platform is scored from the same records as the tables below, on what matters most when you start: how much evidence the cheapest published plan shows and how open that plan is. Searchly sits closest to the top-right corner. The rubric and every score sit under the map.
Scored from public documentation, checked 26 October 2026; the weights favour site evidence and openness at the entry price. A capability we could not find in a vendor's public pages scores zero and is marked “not documented”.
Searchly, our pick
Placed from public documentation
Dashed: under 70% of the scored points documented, so the position may move
Each platform gets up to 14 points for evidence and 12 for openness, from the vendor's own pricing and documentation. We score what the entry plan includes: the cheapest plan with a published price that tracks AI answers.

How plans count
On the entry plan: full points.
Documented, but the vendor does not say which plan has it, or sold as a paid add-on: half.
Only on a higher plan or a sales-led contract: a quarter.
A partial version (beta, homepage only, read-only or one engine) counts half of that.
Not found in public documentation: zero, shown as “not documented”.
A vendor with no fixed published price for a plan that tracks AI answers has no entry plan, so each capability counts a quarter.
We weight site evidence highest because it shows whether AI reads your pages and sends people to them, which a visibility score alone cannot. We weight the API and MCP server highest on openness because they decide whether your data can leave the tool.
The map scores evidence and openness at entry; the tables below compare engines, cadence, content and buying terms.
We also scored the map with equal weights and with every capability whose plan a vendor does not state counted in full. Searchly stays closest to the top-right corner in both.

What one workload costs, on each platform's own terms
Vendors count different things, so headline prices do not compare. We priced one workload on every platform: 50 prompts checked every day on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity, for one brand in one country, billed monthly. That is up to 4,500 answers in 30 days.

A similar sticker price can leave out what you need. Promptwatch ($95), SE Visible ($99, with Perplexity to confirm) and Ahrefs Brand Radar (about $90 to $100, possibly plus an Ahrefs plan from $129) list a similar US dollar price. Rankshift (EUR 77, also listed as USD 92) and LLM Pulse (EUR 79) price it in euros; Peec AI is EUR 85 without Perplexity.
What Searchly's price includes: Starter has AI crawler logs from your host, Google Analytics 4 visits from AI assistants and Google Search Console clicks once you connect them, plus the REST API, the MCP server, Agent and AI shopping. Of the platforms named above, Promptwatch starts crawler logs on Professional; LLM Pulse puts crawler logs and its API on Scale; Peec AI starts its API on Pro; Ahrefs keeps Search Console data in Ahrefs plans from $129; SE Visible's and Rankshift's public pages do not document AI referral visits or Search Console data.

AthenaHQ
May suit you if…
you need monitoring on many more models plus a content agent that edits Shopify product content, and you can budget for response credits with extras priced by contact.
publishing articles to WordPress, Webflow or Framer from the same tool matters more to you than AI crawler logs on the entry plan, and you can plan around a monthly response quota.
a fixed monthly quota of articles and page audits, or an agency plan with white-label reports, matters more to you than Search Console, Opportunities and the REST API on the entry plan.
you are a global enterprise brand that wants a strategist and a question set built for you across many markets and can commit to a paid pilot followed by an annual contract.
you would rather hand the work to a vendor on an annual program, with onboarding, a content roadmap and 10 briefs and articles a month, at a price agreed on a call.
you are a sales-led B2B business that would rather pay from $900 a month for pages written for you and published on Gushwork's own layer at /feeds or a subdomain than run AI visibility in-house.
brand-governed content production is the main job and you already pay for Jasper Business, the plan that includes GEO, and can budget for the credits each run spends.
Entry plan
Business, priced on requestGEO needs Business, 12 months
Searchly puts the evidence behind every score and your own site data on one published $99 plan. Here is what that means next to the alternatives.
Why teams choose Searchly
Every score opens the answer behind it, with its date and citations. Any answer that fell back to an API is labelled and kept out of headline metrics.
AI crawler requests from your host, Google Analytics 4 visits from AI assistants and Search Console clicks sit beside the AI citations for each page once you connect them; Searchly installs nothing on your site.
The REST API and the MCP server come with every plan from the published $99 Starter plan up, so your data reaches your own reports and AI tools.
Agent answers questions about your AI visibility in plain language, opens the right page and proposes new prompts or competitors for you to confirm.
Opportunities ranks your next steps from the evidence, and Content Studio on Pro turns the content gaps it finds into full articles and writer briefs from verified sources.
Starter is $99 a month for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity. Pro is $239 a month for 150 prompts, adds Content Studio and starts with a 14-day free trial.
Your own site data from the first plan.Promptwatch starts AI crawler logs on Professional ($245), Qwairy on Business and LLM Pulse on Scale; Peec AI's Search Console view is in early access. No other platform here documents crawler logs, AI referral visits and Search Console together on its entry plan.
The REST API and the MCP server on every plan.Peec AI starts its API on Pro, OtterlyAI starts both on Standard, LLM Pulse puts its API on Scale and Profound keeps both for Enterprise.
A fixed prompt allowance, with no response quota or credits to run out.AthenaHQ counts response credits, Qwairy and Rankshift sell credits and Promptwatch stops monitoring when its monthly response quota runs out. Searchly Starter tracks 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity; its allowance covers every run.
Published prices instead of a quote.AirOps, Bluefish, Brandlight and GetMint price every plan on request. Profound quotes its brand plans and Jasper sells its GEO features on Business for 12 months. Searchly's plans start at $99 a month.
AI shopping from the first plan.Promptwatch keeps Shopping Insights for Business ($579) and LLM Pulse for Scale. Scrunch, Profound and Meteoria keep shopping data for enterprise plans; Semrush sees products only as a results feature in Google AI Mode. Searchly Starter shows the products ChatGPT shows for your prompts, whose they are, their price, rating and retailer and where they rank.
method
How we compared, and what we left out
What we read
Each vendor's own public pages: documentation first, then pricing pages, then changelogs and help articles. Where a vendor's pages disagree with each other, the mark says so.
How a mark is decided
A mark describes the cheapest plan that includes the feature in any version and that a buyer can start without a custom contract. A plain tick means it is on the entry plan; otherwise the line under it names the plan or the limit. Not documented means we could not find it in the vendor's public pages on the date we checked. Features sold only on a contract carry the lock.
Which platforms are here
We started from the platforms that other public comparisons of AEO and AI visibility tools list and added SE Visible from SE Ranking, 22 in all. Copy.ai's pages describe no AI-answer tracking and Gushwork is a done-for-you content service; both stay because buyers meet them in the same comparisons.
What we leave out
We do not compare visibility scores, because each vendor counts differently.
The map
The positioning map scores every platform from the same records as the tables, on published criteria and weights. Its rubric and every score sit under the map.
Keeping it current
Facts were checked from Oct 19 to Oct 26, 2026, and each source below shows its own date. Pricing pages change often, so we recheck before every update and move a date only when we recheck. To report a mistake, email piotr@trysearchly.com.
Names and logos
Product names and logos belong to their owners and appear only to identify each product.
Track your buyer questions on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity and open the answer behind every number. Start with a 14-day free trial of Pro.
For most teams, Searchly. It tracks the buyer prompts you choose on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity and opens the answer and citations behind every score. Its $99 entry plan adds AI crawler logs, AI referral visits and Search Console once you connect them, with the REST API, MCP server, Agent and AI shopping included. The others suit narrower jobs: Promptwatch and AthenaHQ add article writing on plans from $245 and $295; Semrush and Ahrefs Brand Radar add AI research to an SEO suite; Profound, Brandlight and Bluefish sell enterprise programs on a contract; AirOps and Jasper focus on producing content. No other platform in this guide documents all three kinds of site data on its entry plan. On Pro ($239), Searchly's Content Studio also writes full articles from verified sources.
They describe the same work from different sides. Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) both mean getting a brand mentioned and cited in AI answers from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and similar tools. AI visibility is how you measure it: how often those answers mention you, in what position and with which sources. The platforms in this guide use all three terms.
Start with the engines your buyers use and the ones that already send you visits. ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity are a common base, and every Searchly plan runs all three, with Gemini and Claude as add-ons. Ask each vendor which engines the plan you would buy includes and whether each one is checked through its consumer interface or an API, because the answers can differ. Searchly labels any answer that fell back to an API and keeps it out of headline metrics.
No. Each platform chooses its own prompts, engines, locations and formula, so a score in one tool says nothing about a score in another. To compare tools, run the same prompts on the same engines in each and read the answers. This guide does not compare scores for that reason.
Most send each tracked prompt to each engine on a schedule, either through the consumer interface a person would use or through the provider's API. Interface answers are closer to what buyers see; API answers can differ in wording and sources. Ask each vendor which method it uses for each engine. Searchly collects from the consumer interface where it can, labels answers that fall back to an API and collects Claude, a paid add-on, through Anthropic's API. Answers that fell back to an API stay out of headline metrics.
Searchly Starter is $99 a month for 50 prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity. That price includes the site data connections, the REST API and the MCP server that several others keep for higher plans. Published entry plans for AI answer tracking in this guide run from $29 a month (OtterlyAI Lite, 15 prompts) to $295 a month (AthenaHQ Starter), and several vendors price in euros. The real cost depends on the unit each vendor counts: prompts, responses, answers, credits, checks or tasks. AirOps, Bluefish, Brandlight and GetMint quote every plan, Profound quotes its brand plans and Jasper sells its GEO features on a custom plan. The cost section prices one workload on every platform.
They answer different questions. Crawler logs show which AI bots requested your pages, which is not the same as a person visiting. Google Analytics 4 shows visits that arrive from AI assistants, and Search Console shows clicks and impressions from Google Search. None of them proves that an AI answer caused a sale, but together they show which pages AI systems read, cite and send people to. Searchly includes all three on its entry plan once you connect them; no other platform in this guide documents the same.
Searchly's Content Studio, on Pro and up, writes full articles and writer briefs from verified sources and the gaps tracking finds, then sends approved ones to Webflow as drafts. Promptwatch's AEO articles start on Professional ($245) at 5 a month, AthenaHQ's base content agent starts on its $295 Starter plan and AirOps quotes every plan and bills in tasks. Gushwork writes and hosts pages for you as a service. Peec AI optimizes existing pages and says it does not write new content.
If you want AI visibility data in your own reports or AI tools, yes, so check the plan gate. OtterlyAI starts both on Standard, Peec AI includes MCP on every plan and the API from Pro, LLM Pulse puts its API on Scale and Profound keeps both for Enterprise. Promptwatch includes both on every paid plan and Rankshift's pricing page lists both on Starter, but Promptwatch starts crawler logs on Professional and Rankshift's pages do not document AI referral visits or Search Console data; AirOps includes both on plans it prices on request. Searchly includes both on every plan from the published $99 Starter plan up, beside AI crawler logs, Google Analytics 4 AI visits and Search Console once you connect them.
It is cheap to publish, but treat it as optional. Google's guidance on AI features in Search asks for indexable, useful pages and does not require llms.txt or special schema. First make sure robots.txt does not block the AI crawlers you want, because a blocked crawler reads nothing. Searchly's Site Health checks AI crawler access in robots.txt, llms.txt and structured data, with a fix for each.
Run the same ten to twenty buyer prompts in each tool on your shortlist. Open the full answer and its sources, check which engines and countries ran and how, export the data and price the plan for your real prompt count. Ask what happens when a quota or credit budget runs out, and whether history stays if you change plans. Searchly's 14-day Pro trial is long enough to run that test.
Not directly. Each platform collects its own answers, so history does not move between tools. Export your prompts, answers and citations before you leave, and run the old and new tools side by side for a few weeks so you can compare like for like. Searchly exports answers, prompts and page evidence as CSV on every plan.
Yes. Searchly's free AI visibility report checks 10 buyer questions across OpenAI, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity once and emails you a link to the answers and sources. For ongoing tracking, Searchly Pro starts with a 14-day free trial. Google Search Console also reports on AI features in Google Search for your own site at no cost (Google announced it in June 2026); Searchly puts your Search Console clicks and impressions beside the AI answers for each page on every plan once you connect it.
We started from the platforms that other public comparisons of AEO and AI visibility tools list, added SE Visible from SE Ranking and kept all 22, including tools that do the work around tracking rather than tracking itself. Every mark comes from the vendor's own pages, with sources and dates on each comparison.
